New Chapter Qualifications to be in good standing are the following as of June 12, 2008.

  • Completion and submission of Incorporation papers as outlined in the New Beginnings Handbook
  • Obtaining and maintaining valid 501(c) (3) and IRS tax exempt status
  • Acquisition of Taxpayer ID number
  • Submission and approval of individual by-laws (to be submitted in time for either the Fall or Spring national Board Meetings)
  • The president or chair of the local Chapter MUST be a full-member of ADEC national, with dues paid.
  • Annually updated membership list to be submitted to the Chapter Chairperson to be forwarded to ADEC national. Timely completion and submission of the end-of-year annual report that follows the current published New Beginnings Handbook guidelines
  • Timely completion and submission of the local chapter fiscal report to be submitted to the Chapter Chairperson to be forwarded to ADEC national
  • Submission of a short article annually to be included in the ADEC Connects so that other ADEC members might be kept apprised of local ADEC activities and opportunities.

Chapters that do not comply with the new guidelines in 45 days, they will no longer be considered chapters in good standing.
