2009 Call for Specialty Workshop Abstracts
ADEC uses an online abstract submission database to collect proposals.
Submissions are no longer being accepted for Specialty Workshops
Specialty Workshops are topic-specific training opportunities for professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge about dying, death, and bereavement.
ADEC is particularly interested in topics that represent “cutting-edge” knowledge and skills in the field of thanatology. Proposals that address issues of cultural and ethnic diversity in illness, death, and bereavement are also welcome.
Submission Policies
- Previous presenters can present again in three years from the date of the last presentation
(e.g. 2006 presenters are eligible to apply for the 2009 Conference).
- Current ADEC Board Members are not eligible to submit Specialty Workshops.
- At least one presenter must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a field related to death, dying, and bereavement.
- The Specialty Workshop committee pays a fixed stipend for each half-day (3.25 hours) or full-day (6.5 hours) workshop. This stipend is not per presenter. Presenters are responsible for all expenses involved in attending the Conference and Workshop, including room, board, and transportation.
- ADEC headquarters will provide up to 30 two-sided copies of your workshop handout if you provide a master to headquarters by February 15, 2009 (please limit your handout to 15 pages). We will remind you about this if your proposal is accepted.
- ADEC reserves the right to cancel workshops showing low registration when necessary.
- Content presented in specialty workshops should not substantially duplicate content delivered by the presenter elsewhere during the ADEC 2009 conference.
