Find a Thanatologist Directory Directions

If you haven't yet Enroll in the Find a Thanatologist Directory you still can!
As a member of ADEC, you are invited to enroll in our new Find a Thanatologist Directory.
This new feature of the ADEC Web site will allow nonmembers, nonprofessionals and others to search for ADEC members who identify themselves as counselors, clinicians, educators, speakers, practitioners and consultants.

This is an excellent tool for members to make themselves available to their communities. Participation in this program is entirely optional. You must check the box labeled "Include in Public Directory," in your member profile in order to be included.

Only your name, institution/company, city, state, country, work phone number, and Web site URL, if you have provided it, will be made public.

To participate, take the following steps to review and update your profile:

Log in to the members only section of the ADEC Web site.  (Simply click on the link that says” Members Only” on the left side of the ADEC home page and log in. If you do not remember your username and password, click on the link on the members log in page that states” Click here to have your login emailed to you.")

  1. Click on "Edit Your Profile"
  2. Select the "Demographics" button on the far right hand side of the page.
  3. Click on "Find_Thanatologist."   Read the instructions at the top of the page regarding how to make your selections.
  4. Check the box labeled "Include in Public Directory."
  5. Select your practitioner type (e.g., counselor, educator).  To participate, you must select at least one category but may check more than one.
  6. Select your practice setting (e.g., university, clinic).   Choose all that apply.
If none of the categories fits, type a general description of your practice setting in the space provided.
  7. Select your discipline. (e.g., social work, pastoral care, nursing). Select all that apply. If none of the categories fits, type your discipline in the space provided.
  8. Click "Update” or ”Insert" when you have completed your changes.

If you include your Web site URL as part of your ADEC record, it will be displayed on the Find a Thanatologist Directory for the public. From your main record page, click “edit profile” to add or update your Web site and any other information about yourself.

Note:  The Find a Thanatologist Directory is accessible to the public. The Member Directory, which includes additional information, is in the member's only section of the Web site and is accessible only to members.  ADEC members are cautioned not to release information to non-members about other ADEC members that is not included in the Find a Thanatologist Directory for the public.
